  2. Set the frame delay and the maximum canvas size, then press Build GIF.
  3. Watch the preview loop, then download the GIF.

Frequently asked questions

How does the GIF get built?

Each image is decoded, scaled to a common size and reduced to a 256-color palette (one palette per frame), then packed into a GIF89a stream by the MIT-licensed gifenc encoder running in your tab. Nothing is uploaded — the encoding is pure local JavaScript.

Why should the images have the same shape?

GIF frames must share one canvas size. The tool fits every frame into the first image's proportions (capped by your max-size choice); images with a very different aspect ratio will be squeezed to match, so stick to same-shaped pictures for clean results.

What happens to transparency?

Frames are flattened onto white before quantization. GIF supports binary transparency per frame, but multi-frame semi-transparent animation is a compatibility minefield — opaque frames look the same everywhere.

How long will the animation be?

Frames × delay. The delay field is shared by all frames (clamped 20–2000 ms); 500 ms gives a classic flipbook feel and 100–200 ms looks like a fast slideshow. The result line shows the estimated loop duration.

Can I reorder or remove frames?

Yes — every thumbnail has an × to remove it, and frames play in the order shown, so re-adding files is the way to change order. Clear resets everything.
